I live in San Francisco so not a lot of highway driving but I also don't want to burn a hole in my pocket if I decided to take the beast up to Sonoma for some wine tasting. Should I do 4.1 LSD? 3.73? What do you guys think?

Life is too short to be driving a Honda.

I personally think a 3.73 is the perfect compromise between acceleration and highway cruising. A 4.10 would still be okay for an occasional relatively short highway trip. And in a like manner a 3.46 would be better if most of the driving was at highway speed. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I vote 4.10. People think its too short but its really not.Originally posted by blunttechr3v does not fuck around. First you get banned, then they shoot youComment

my vote would be 3.46. my mtetch2 came from the p.o. with a 4.10. i find it annoying as fuck on the highway. it runs 3200 rpm at 70 with 215/45/17 tires.
all m20 cabrios came from the factory with a 3.73 as far as i know. i have owned 5 or 6 at this point and all manuals and autos had that ratio in them.sigpic

I have a 4.10 that's about to come out of my vert. I don't mind it at all, just changing it up. PM if you want it! I'm by Vacaville, so pretty much local to you.
To flyboyx, my 4.10 shows as an option thrown in on my window "sticker" from the dealer.Comment

Unless your purpose building the car as a track car that actually NEEDS quicker acceleration, don't go with a 4.10.
That just fuels the insesent need for guys to think their pee pee is bigger than it really is
Stick with stock gearing
3.73 for 5 speed
4.10 for 4-speed autosComment

Because you can accelerate faster? Isn't that the whole point of almost ever performance mod? If you don't go on the highway much, might as well get a 4.10. It'll be better in the city. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

That is a better approach, but shorter gearing definitely makes a car "faster" in everything except top speed. The first car I ever rode in was an e30
