Any interest in new ES/IS valence reproduction brackets?
A couple of guys have tried to get a GB going for those, and I inquired about discount pricing for multiple sets when I ordered mine from Chuck. To date there haven't been more than two or three people interested in them at a time, and at least half of them couldn't come up with the money when it came time to make something happen. That said, good luck - and I mean that sincerely.
I agree the early is airdam looks sweet, I bought one without brackets for my previous 87 325i and then saw the price of getting a set of reproduction or used brackets was more than I paid for the valance. Because of that I bought a partial set of brackets 1.5 middle brackets and the two end pieces from a member here for cheap and then made steel copies of the middle pieces off the one good one I had. If it was 50 bucks for new brackets I would have bought new ones but for over a hundred bucks, id rather just spend a afternoon bending and welding steel to fit.
Was also considering having these made too since they seem to have a decent demand and when people do need them they seem a little tough to get ahold of in decent condition.
Couple things:
- The thin section on the bottom of the mount is designed to break on impact in an attempt to lessen damage to the front spoiler itself.
- On my CAD drawing I made the flat center section a little smaller to make installation a little easier, it can be tough to get your fingers in there.
Never did get around to getting quotes to get them made, myself.
the brackets cost over twice that price of the valences! Seems crazy to me.
True, though for those of us whose goal is to put together OEM+ examples yet have zero fabrication skills, these aftermarket brackets are a sensible option since the Genuine BMW ones are NLA.
I might be interested in these, are they the ones shown in the bottom of the picture below or something else?
The bottom bracket. The other two are still available with little cost. There's also a small wedge piece that attaches to the side of the valence as well that can't be ordered separately.
i'm interested. in for pics, material, weight, cost..
Under the $80 range, but this would include all 5 plastic brackets. ABS plastic. All will be 3D printed with my own machine that will be coming in sometime in middle of March.

First design for a buddy. He wants sold ones that don't break away. Production will have a thinner section to allow for some flex.
