    School me on C10's

I will be getting rid of my 4runner and picking up my dad's 85 Silverado. Working AC and heater, no leaks, straight body.

Any of you avid square body fans? I need pics for inspiration.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30

Let's see. As I recall, GM trucks didn't get fuel injection until 1987, but I suppose a swap is possible. LOTS of room in the engine bay, so they're really easy to work on.

Assuming that it's an automatic, immediately add an additional transmission cooler. Those things are notorious (at least to my friend that worked at a transmission shop) for not having adequate trans cooling. The part that runs through the radiator just isn't enough.

            C10s are awesome!!!

Don't bother with expensive LS crap, just keep it totally simple, and go with a standard first gen chevy small block, carb'd of course. I am assuming this C10 won't be for DD duty, so I am not worried about optimizing fuel mileage. Basic first gen SBCs are extremely robust, and make gobs of power.

Also, there is a huge aftermarket for C10 trucks, including pre-formed rust repair panels for all the common rust spots you may encounter.

In fact, I have been eyeing C10s lately...

They can look awesome as well.

It is an automatic and he currently uses it to haul metal to the recycler

My plans for it would be a simple drop, nothing to extreme, wider wheels and tires, different grill and making it loud as shit ;)

I'll try to get a pic posted
