Why do angel eyes look so bad...

on the E30/E34 is there a way to pull it off without making the car look ricey, or making it look like its had 28shots of espresso in a row. Is it that the halos are too far apart?

The amber color isn't as bad as the blue/white.

As long is you like your car just do it.
I'd be embarrassed though. Might as well put lights in your wheel arches.

It's alright but those DEPO ones with the built in angel eyes look ugly and the rings are too thick. The rings often don't light up as nice because they use 3 regular filament bulbs to illuminate the entire ring.

Personally, I wouldnt do it. My girlfriend was asking me why I dont like it and just couldnt quite put my finger on it, but it just looks weird.

I think there's potential for an angel eye design to work, but it would have to be done much much subtly than just trying to copy the look of the newer models; ie e39.

Angel eyes were put on newer bmw's to mimic the look of separate lights that the older bmw's had. So, putting halos on a vehicle that actually has separate lights does not have a good stacking value or look.

They just don't look designed for the car. It's like putting gull wings on a civic.
The enclosure itself is round so it seems a bit redundant whereas on the others it has a more aggressive look.
Proportions look out of whack too.

they fit right in with the euro "audi style LED light bar" crap on all the cars over here.
                          just looks over done.
