    Where to source this part?

    Hello,

I am posting here because feel the part I am looking for may have come from an E30 era BMW.

My '91 M3 (stock motor) has the R134 AC system. When it was changed over, the AC compressor supporting bracket and adjusting bar were 'upgraded', using an unknown kit.

The adjusting bracket broke - thankfully we were able to weld it back together. Now I am on the hunt for a replacement... I can't find this part on realoem (I searched all the E30 engines). Any ideas?

      Yeah, I posted on S14 :)

Mike W. on myE28.com has the answer. It's the adjusting bar from an E28 535i. I am going to order it and see if the dimensions are the same.

This is very close, however, the teeth are on the "convex" side. The one I have has the teeth on the "concave" side.

Thanks dude. The adjustment bar I have is one flat piece, the one you shared has three sides. I will keep this as a back-up - maybe it can be modified (cut off two sides) to work.

Gents, thanks to Mike W. at myE28.com, I think I have the solution (#10) :

                          http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...61&hg=32&fg=15

Here's what is strange. The same PN for the E30 looks like this (#12 in the diagram), which not what I need. The 535i part looks dead on...

                          http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&fg=15&hl=48

That said, YMMV with the images at realoem.com...
