Ran my 325e on the dyno today!

I go to school at UTI, and they have a couple dynos available.
Made 4 pulls with my 85 325e. Stock hp at the crank is 121, 170 torque.
    Mileage: 210,279
    Ambient Temp: 65 degrees F.

    1) Max power 116.3, Max Torque 150.8 in 3rd gear.
    2) Max power 118.9, Max Torque 160.3 in 3rd.
    3) Max power 118.4, Max torque 158.6 in 3rd.
    4) Max power 114.6, Max torque 154.7 in 4rth.

I'm pretty happy with it, I estimated 115 hp, 150 torque, and was pretty damn close. :woowoo:

Mods:Shaved head (.020") Bav auto lowering springs, bilstein touring front struts, muffler man 2 1/4" exhaust with high flow cat and Flowmaster delta flow muffler, ebay knockoff ecu chip, shortened shifter with acura tl perforated leather knob, cone filter, bigger 325i throttle body, Bav auto 8mm perf. wires, bottle cap 14s painted black, chrome window trim painted black , lol

Great numbers, especially with the mileage.

Do you have any printouts of the graphs??

Was it a dynojet that you used, or another type of dyno??

I have a printout, but I don't have a scanner to post it. You'll have to trust me, lol.
I'm pretty sure that it was a dynojet, don't know the model. For some reason it doesn't say on the printout.
I'll see if I can find out tomorrow.

I trust you ;) , I'd just like to see what your curves look like and what rpms you're making your peak power at thats all.

Not bad at all for the mileage. Any plans in the future for your car?

Damn, you're running a super low percentage of driveline loss. As everybody said...awesome numbers for mileage. You gotta find out what dyno you were using.

Great numbers! I pulled something like 114 with my old eta.

Seems kinda low if you're running higher compression and a chip. The chip's usually good for 20+ hp on an eta.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

Oh, my bad... I didn't even read the list of mods. I thought you meant stock...so that's why I was confused...anyway.. still decent numbers for mileage.

In about a year or so I should be working as a BMW technician, so I will disassemble my eta and reassemble it as a track car. Ill be able to afford it. I was thinking about 2.7i, with either a built high reving motor, or a turbo 2.7i.
Hopefully I can pick up an e36, or e46 m3. Or perhaps and e39 m5 as a daily driver..

Yea, I figured the chip claims were exagerated, or those numbers are at the crank?
If you figure in a 20% drivetrain loss, its 192 ft/lbs, and 142hp at the crank.
                        Thats 22 ft/lbs and 21hp increase.
I suppose I should be making more power than that with an exhaust, higher compression, and TB. I guess the poorly flowing cyl head is holding this beast back, lol.

20% driveline loss is way too high.

                            15% is more realistic.

                              alright,
Then 136 hp, and 184ft/lbs at the crank.

                              Still decent, but not great.
