How in the HELL (Firefox related question)

I've just recently updated to the newest version of Firefox, in which they have instated a new "feature"

It allows for keyboard navigation. Meaning the numpad now lets you go forward and back and other bulshit I don't want.

I type special characters on the numpad alot, holding ALT and pressing 167 for example produces the character "º" for degrees.

Now all it does is make you just forward/back and LOSE any text you may have had typed in. Fucking homosexual.

I've searched and searched but found NO WAY to turn this "feature" off.

Anyone know? Obviously some moron at Mozilla didn't have the fore thought to think it may pose a conflict for alot of users.

I'd downgrade to the previous version that worked for you.

How often do you use the degree symbol when browsing?

I am guessing pretty often since it pisses him off.

My numpad doesn't do that, I've got 1.5 installed as well.

I use FF too, but if its really causing that big of a problem, try Opera. Its really nice.

                            Jordan,
I have firefox running on linux, and when I do the "ALT-###" thing, my browser does as yours. I was messing around and noticed that CTRL-SHIFT-### does something, but I don't think it quite does the same thing.

If you goto about:config in your browser bar, you'll be pesented with alot of internal-firefox-options, but I don't know if you'll be able to easilly find the feature you're looking for.
