shark lovers: how does this shit wind up in a junk yard?

so i was perusing my local jy today and came across a 1976 euro 630i.

even though that is a u.s. rear bumper, i am sure the car is euro because all the stickers in the door jamb and under the hood were all auf deutsche.

other than that little rust hole in the front euro bumper, that car is rust free and the paint job is awesome, but not perfect.

this interior is truly perfect. i checked the manual transmission to see if it was a dogleg and it is not.

this is the first time i have ever seen an m30 with a carburator. the factory air cleaner was sitting in the trunk

side loader diff. i saw something like this once in a 2800cs. to me it is a real oddball. i checked it to see if it was an lsd and it is not.

other than the ghey as fuck exhaust tip in the first pic, this car is very original, truly phenomenal and i would have to say very rare. i can't tell you how much it pisses me off to find something like this in a pick a part.

can you buy the whole car out of the junkyard that might be worth trying depending on what they would want for it

Once it's in the yard like that, I don't think you can buy it as a whole.

That's so frustrating. There should still be multiple VIN's on the vehicle, I don't understand why it would be so hard to get a new title made.

Do m20s and m30s share the same bell housing on the transmissions?

If so, assuming it has a mechanical speedo, this could be a good transmission of m20 swapped 2002 guys.

( I have zero knowledge of this transmission. I could be completely wrong.)

Ya it would be worth pulling off some off that stuff off and finding some guys who have sharks. The front euro bumper, all the interior pieces and possibly some other euro goodies would be profitable. Put it up on a forum (like Bf.c)= cash money

Are you planning to go back there? I need some parts...

                          some info about that car:
                          - it's a 630cs, not a 630i :)
                          - that's a euro rear bumper, they had this style until '82. The whole setup is worth $300 to the right person.
                          - the carb is a rare carryover from e9 coupes, but it is the worst possible air intake option for these cars
                          - the transmission in that car should be a 4-speed
                          - the two major e24 communities are bigcoupe.com and the bf.c e24 subforum
                          - the seats are not worth tons, but the door cards and dash (if intact) have some value
                          - the door/window seals are $$$$ if they're in good shape
                          - the rear chrome tail-light bezels are worth some money if they're not rusty, and the lenses if they're not cracked

                          nice find!

Here in Miami I saw a rust free / good paint / good interior.. alpine / helrot(?) manual transmission 535i e28... mind you.. 80s BMW in good condition are pretty rare here.

By the time I got to it though the interior was shredded and rained out.. during rainy season and it sat in the yard for 2 months prior.
