    Noob saying hello from SoCal

I have caught a case of E30itis and just wanted to say hi to fellow E30 sickos.

Last week I came across this site and started researching a bit for useful information on E30's.

I will continue to search for info. on what to look for when buying an E30 3_ _IS. But any useful tips of problematic areas on these cars would be great!

The first car I ever bought (back in 1987) and owned for 3 years was an orange 1969 BMW 2002 and I still miss it. I have never driven an E30 but love the way they look and I want one.

    Cheers,

    Levon

                Meh.

Welcome to the site. I don't know the market in SoCal but I'd hold out for a decent one. You'll probably like the "IS", "I" more than the "ES" and "E" because of the motors and looks - something to start researching.

This is the kind of rust bucket, you have to worry about in SoCal though, one of the locals just picked this up.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Yeah, I am in no hurry and will hold out for the right car.

Is there something like "A Definitive Guide" book for the E30 325IS or 318IS cars that has all specs., options, colors, etc. that you guys recommend ?

                        Please advise.

                        Thanks

Welcome, if you are looking at a car. Ask to check the VIN in the engine bay. Only because there is a considerable amount of dash swapping and shady characters may leave vin from donor car if it had a better history.

Keep an eye out for sketch DIY work done to a car. It can lead to other DIY disasters and headaches.
