Driving to school to day I saw a Honda Accord with a super low stance. I've noticed it a whole lot lately. What's the craze behind it, and what do you guys think of it?
but personally, it's all about Mariah Carey on the freeway
It's the hipster-becauseracecar-wannabe weiners. Like Vtec said, to each his own. Personally I think it stupid and a waste of time and money, if I'm going to ride in a car thats low and rides rough, it'll be for a good reason like hardcore track car designed to stick to the ground like super glue.....not so I can prop my crooked hat wearing ass against the car and brag about how much tire my fenders eat..........
My problem with the "stance" scene are the people. IMO, a very large majority are not true car enthusiasts. I can't seem to relate or have a good conversation regarding cars or much of anything at all. Sure, I've got a solid group of friends that drive their s14's and Japanese cars low as shit, but it's a style.
I have come up with this opinion via observing people I've known a long time (mostly middle and high school). And by observing, I mean Facebook or instagram, ect. I feel they "got into the game" because it was a fad.
Done right it looks great, but it isn't done right that often. I have had my car fitted and it drove and handled fine. Never busted a pan or anything. I think it looked great. Not stupid low but low enough to look good.
With that said, I have since raised it up and got bigger tires and 15s and it rides way better and is more fun to drive, but it doesn't have the appeal it had before. All preference really.
My stance is that a car should be set up for the owner's desired level of performance. If theirs is "no performance," that's fine with me.
But meaty tires all the way for me. I'm not fond of lowriders bouncing but I can accept the level of work they have put into it. Cars are cars after all.

But hey, to each their own.
This about sums it up for me. I like the look of a nicely lowered car, perfect flush wheel fitment, no fender gap, nice meaty tires. When it gets to the point of becoming an issue to drive your car on normal roads, or impossible to go over speed bumps, or bragging about how many oil pans you broke is where it starts to get a bit silly to me. Not knocking it, but I don't get it. I like to drive my car, not stare at them parked. I do find it irritating that almost everyone I run into who is "into cars" these days tells me I need to slam my car, bag it yada yada.
