RARE E30 Harge in storage for decades... tell me about this car!

Some things give me pause though, like the different hartge script on the back, the wrong rear and side skirts and the mismatched stripe ends. This might have been a car that was brought to Hartge some years after its purchase to have a "tuning kit" of bolt-ons thrown at it. -
Looks like a proper H26, but that interior is definitely from somewhere else.
- the BBS RA wheels came on some Hartges originally, including Tavern Gnome's which has now passed through a few other owners and was for sale by GutenParts at some point in the recent past. I'm not sure if they were an upgrade or a downgrade for people who didn't want the 1-piece Hartge wheels.
- the rear apron doesn't look right, here's a good look at one:

- the skirts, as jason said, are Kamei
- the motor will have a crank out of a 323i with 84mm-bore hartge-spec pistons, rods and cam. Likely a 731-casting head with some work done to it. Info on these engines throughout this thread
- some general info here
you should get some pics of the front apron and headers. Is it a dogleg or a standard OD 5-speed?Leave a comment:

It has Kamei side skirts on it, and looks like phofa (sp?) rear pieces on the apron. What front air dam does it even have?Leave a comment:

7k? 4k?! Have you guys been following the e30 market lately? This isn't 1999 anymore with a bloated lazy market flooded with 10-15 year old e30s.
Despite the non Hartge modifications this is still probably a $10k car.
I personally think its fat as can be. Good luck with your search OP
Same story with old 70's and 80's Firebirds/TA's/Camaros, It's absurd the prices the nice ones are going for these days!Leave a comment:

No idea, it could have been done at piece mill aka catalog shopping.Leave a comment:

So is the consensus that it is a real Hartge H26 then someone customized the interior? Put the BBS wheels and zender skirts on?Leave a comment:

Oh I know that but you could spec a nicer part they were optional. If you pony'd the money for the adjustable lights how many extra DM was it for a 6 button or an analog.WOW, that looks terrible! Looks like someone had more money than sense back then.
I would bet it is a real Hartge that someone TUNED.
Too bad they took off some nice Hartge parts for some Not So cool parts, with some black leather in there, real Hartge wheels, and those Zender skirts gone, that car would be worth a fortune.
BTW Greg, those clocks were factory in the early euro cars.Leave a comment:
