My DD is a 08 Civic si. So i took my wife to Olive garden for her birthday today. It was kinda chilly so i was wearing my jacket and had my phone in the pocket. I guess my phone fell out of the pocket into the seat when i was getting out. I realized this when i got into the restaurant, but decided to leave it there since it was my wifes bday, and i wouldnt need my phone to eat. We finished eating in like 30-40 min since we only had soup and salad, and returned to this :(
They broke the window and stole my phone. Looks like they checked through the car real quick and the console, but didnt take anything else. I had an ipod in the console that they missed, and also had a pair of Prada sunglasses that they missed that we sitting in the front cubby hole thing. Also they didnt check the trunk, which is where my wifes purse was thank god. So it was pretty much just a smash and grab for my phone.
They had balls because it was pretty daylight, and my car was in the open. Oddly im not that upset. Its just a broken window and a phone afterall, and luckily i didnt have my handgun in the console today. My phone has security software on it that is set to grab the location, take a few pictures with the front facing camera, and then wipe the phone when they turn it back on. I restored the phone recently so wasnt much data on it and Ive changed my relevant passwords too, so im not sweating it at all. Going to leave the phone active for a few days in hopes they turn it back on, and then ill call verizon and get a new phone, only like a $50 deductible, and i needed a new phone anyways since mine was messing up
thought i would just make this to vent a little lol. And yes i did file a police report, but not much else to do, insurance is going to replace my glass
