E30 1992 bmw 318isc mint fully restored to factory specs - $14000 (Studio City)
Hello craigslist I have up for sale my pride and joy. Since my owner ship I have completely restored this car. It's a 1992 318 vert e30 chassis with the dual overhead cam m42b18. I bought this car from a negligent owner and soon saw the flaws of this car. The whole interior was redone using high quality materials meaning no rips or tears or cracks stains etc... Never been smoked inside. The top was redone and purchased from century west bmw. All the weather seals were replaced so no leaking what so ever when you wash the car or if it rains. On too the drive train... If you are an enthusiast or collected you should know about the notorious profile gasket on the m42 motors well shortly after it started mixing oil and water the car was towed to e30 motorwerks and was from top to bottom rebuilt and bored to 2.3l like the s14 with s14 internals so it has close too 270hp with a turner motorsports chip. The tranny received a brand new Sachs clutch and fly wheel all the seals were replaced converted to an r134 system. The power steering pump and high pressure lines as well as the entire cooling system was replaced with oem parts. NO CHINA MADE PRODUCTS WERE USED. Now for the suspension all bushings were replaced with urethane bushings and the control arm bushings were swapped with treehouse racing bushings thicker sway bars from IE were installed and for the shocks and springs well kw variant coilovers were installed and lowered about 2 inches for perfect ride height. Now on too the exterior it's all original no dings they were all professionally taken care of its flawless. Has Elipsoids plastic bumpers all red tail lights genuine bmw spoiler and IS front lip bbs basketweaves Pirelli tires rebuilt braking system and a custom 2.5in pipe to a magnaflow from cat back. Has original 122k miles which is super low. This is a real enthusiast car/collectors I don't want too sell it but I'm forced to as I am getting married and need the money. If you are interested email me and we will talk thanks. •Location: Studio City

    Um, worth maybe $8-9K?

I'm sure he spent way more on that, but c'mon.. it's a vert, and no pics.

and 270 hp is really hard to believe.

Yea 8 or 9k would be fair, and his claim of 122k miles being super low isnt that big of a claim, especialy if you havent looked up the history yet to make sure that is accurate. I just bought a 1991 325i sedan with 125k on it, wasnt that hard to find.

If the M42 makes anywhere near 270hp, I'm sure he spent $14k on building it

                At the wheels or crank?

I still wouldn't believe that claim. I wouldn't pay anywhere near 14k for it. It's a '92 iC ffs, 122k is not super low at all.

I don't think they can be bored out that much, I think 2.1 is the most. They can achieve 200+ HP. And there is a version of the S42 that puts down numbers like that.
But I would say those numbers are @the crank though

No photos, mediocre-at-best description, and unconfirmed horsepower claims? Yeah, I'll pass, thanks. Now if it were being sold by Enthusiast Auto, had good photos, a solid description, and no BS power claims, mayyyybe I could see it.
