Maybe you could have a machine shop make you a set, it doesn't look very complicated..

cool, I'm excited to see the outcome. I'v been doing research on this swap for awhile now, so I am very interested to see how it all comes out for you. You might want to check this out, looks like they did the e36 5 lug swap.

lukasbmw: Are you using M coupe rear arms/brakes??
If so, you could look at using the E28 front hub/wheel bearing on the stock E30 spindal, this would probaly mean a custom brake set up will be required, unless e30 M3 discs & calipers can be used!?!?! This will keep front and rear wheel offsets similar rather than with the M coupe/E36 combo you would need rear wheels with 18mm less offset or 18mm spacers, not a big deal though.

I've have just got all my parts for the swap also.
I'm using E36 318ti parts though, alot more affordable than the M parts!!
I'll be using new shocks and springs in the front & keeping my konis in the rear.
Front brakes will be 330ci discs with 4pot calipers (prolly wilwood Dynalites).
Re: the control arm mounts, I plan to weld the stock holes up and drill new ones.

          5 Lug

          Question:

If you use TI Compact rear parts, do the original E30 driveshafts fit directly? Or are the splines different or spline length an issue? i.e. do we have to use the Compact driveshafts as well?

I believe all E30 based rear axles have the same splines, there fore any can be used from a E30 316 to a M Coupe.

Oh fuck! I totally forgot about the difference in offset on the M roady. I will probably need spacers in the rear. Who knows. The rims I have should fit well enough to drive. I'll fuck with the appearence and stance later on.

As for the half shafts, I am using M roadster half shafts. They required me to swap to E28 diff output shafts. I do not know if the stock e30 half shafts would have been able to fit into the M roadster hubs.

what offset and width wheels did you get??
                Do you have a pic??
I think it is a 18mm spacer that is need for the rear to balance the offset.
Are you M roady rear discs vented?? don't look like it!?!?! I thought they were!?!?!
Nice having the bigger drive shafts & CV though, I worried about breaking mine!! (stock ones that is)

I'm looking at 17x7.5" front and 17x8.5" rear both et40.

My E36 parts arrived today, yay, busy weekend ahead!!

                  The rims I got are 17x8 or 17x7.5 et41

Like I said i'll see what happens. I bolted one of the rims to the front suspension hub and it fit and spun with out coming close to the strut.

Lukas, could you please measure the diameter of the splined part of the M Coupe axle.

                    Thanks heaps.

                      I have a quick question.

My friend called and asked me how the bushing was pressed in. He can't see why the bushing bracket needs to be machined if the M3 offset bushing is pressed in. He only see's a need to machine the brackets if the M3 control arm bushing is pressed in backwards.

I told him the brackets need to be machined and the M3 control arm bushing needs to be pushed in the "right" way. The objective is to get the wheel as far to the front as possible.

Am I correct? I can't see why he would ask this question, but I thought I would forward it to you guys here...
