    double barrel intake

So, I been screwing around again with PVC intake :) she runs well, i'll have to route cool air to feed them.

no, they have not melted nor cranck snapped, it's experimental fun.

I'm yet to finish MS2 tunes so she cuts off at 3800rpms and higher as I go into 2nd, 3rd etc., 4th gear cuts off aroun 5200 rpms
not the mani's fault as single unit did not cut off with W.A.R. chip. it's a 2" main to 1/ 1/2 runners.

this it what it look like now and then ...

Plenum area is much too small.

How would this be better than your Diblas intake plenum?

              - chance, aluminum gets too hot, pvc it's easier to manipulate for now.

              - LJ851, we'll see., I know, read this and that, I know., it's for fun.

              - delatalta1281, everyone complains how dbilas runners are too wide and that bog down feel and flatness, with sigle setup she's snappier, trying to play with resonance effect and so on. oem runners are 18", looking for something that's variable., thought that using 2" mains into 1 1/2" runners would recreate velocity stacks., she's on Alpha-N mode for that run.

              - gtdragon980, yes, I get the irony in your pic, worst would be to sit on my ars and try nuthingz ;)

              - ak, as soon as remapping is done, she should idle pretty well, or so i hope, it ran smooth with single set up.

You may want to take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variabl...ntake_Manifold and how the intake manifolds on Mercedes M104 engines work.

The straight 6 design might make the rear intakes suffer. Needs to come straight at all 6 to make equal for all. Just like BMW designs them. Ever think of using 3" and drilling out holes for runners then gluing it all together?

The double barrel is a better setup imo.

Similar to what F34R said, it seems that the rear cylinders wouldn't get nearly as much air as is needed and the difference in airflow from front to rear would be drastic which I wold imagine makes it difficult to get proper AFRs in the each cylinder.

I understand it's just for funsies but if you ever more seriously looked into it, rectifying that would be my first priority.

The double barrel shouldn't make it as bad since the distance from the entrance of the intake to the rearmost cylinder is shorter and has less cylinders to take air.

Neat idea though. Creativity is the only way to improve something :D
