the volume is way too small. also, people complain about the size of the throttle plates (too big), not the plenum size. even the standard dbilas plenum is too small.

I know nothing about actually making intakes but it seems like a cool idea. Refine the length and size then have it made from alum. That sound is fantastic though!

I always thought it would be nice to have a smaller intake on top. The stock one is pretty big and covers everything underneath it.
Haven't you ever seen Russian Nesting Dolls? They work like that.

I'll copy and paste my reply from www.e30tech.com ...

Just by coincidence our firing order is 1/5/3 and 6/4/2 which is same as how i've made them, isn't that better for velocity since there's less pause between pulses ?

I'll make a 1/2/3 & 4/5/6 set after weekend and will thighten tension on "sock filter" to visualise resonating waves even better.

PVC pipes are available at any home improvement shop. $25 worth at the most., don't forget the proper glue for them.

CF heater fan cover was 79 Euros, link does not work anymore (post # 6) but better pics here ... http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=175415 ... BMP used to sell them too.

Here's what I've seen at local yards so far, all inline 6 cylinder type:

              - This first three pics are from same manifold, I like how it splits, accumulates and then merges at center (2 mergers + 6 cylinders) to stabalize pulses ???

              - This ones are imular to log type I made, first it's the only one with tappered design...

              - Ford's dual ported ...

              - Toyota's look like a smaller version of our big six series cars ...

I do have a dbilas/m20 compatible CSL like plenum that's requires brake booster delete, opted to chop it up and looked inside, is not very smooth and it can be repatch ($50), no big deal.

Realistically I should have made a 1 1/2" (37mm) spacer to move brake booster foward, that would have stopped runner #6 from colliding with PVC ones, CF one has runner pointing towrads front so spacer would not help., last pic from sellers website, notice lack of brake booster., it also required throttle cable bracket to point up instead of to the left side, did that already.

while in the subject of electrically activated split plenum's, bought this M70 fly by wire throttle kits, sent one to Keith whodwho, maybe he'll get into it ;)

              thanks for pleasent conversation.
