Vert Owners ITT: Do You Leave The Top Down in Public?

Just wondering what others do. Please specify whether your top is electric or manual, too.

Don't know about you guys but i usually leave it down. Only really put it up if the car is really far and out of view or if i know i'm gonna be gone for a long time....really hate putting the top up and then back down manually lolz

I'll leave mine down if the weather is good and I'm in a good neighbourhood, and if I'm only going to leave it that way for less than a couple hours. More than that and I put it up.

I'll leave it down all day if I'm close enough and I trust the area. Anything important is usually locked in the glove box or trunk. Mine's a manual top, which is the only reason that I put it up when I do. If it was a working electric top I'd rarely put it up because those motors love to break.

I only put it up if there is a chance of rain while im away. and only if im gone for less than like an hour or two.

Y'all sound naive, or just don't care. Slightly cracked is the most I ever leave my windows down, except when I did delivery driving then I'd leave em all the way down. When I was young I knew kids that would steal any car with windows down... and I consider my town pretty tame.

i usually leave the top down in public and doors unlocked if someone wants to get in my car and steal things make it easy so they dont brake shit lol if someone wants your things bad enough they will get them no matter what ..

well see what i think is if there is something important to be kept, i keep it locked in the glove box or trunk. Because i mean if someone really wanted to get into the car, nothing would be there and even if the top was up all you'd need to do is just cut the top or pry between the window and vert gasket to pull the window out. The car isnt theif-proof by anyone with more that 6 brain cells and opposable thumbs. I Guess putting the top up automatically wards off would be hoodwinks.

i leave it down. i don't keep anything in my car except in my trunk or locked glove box. if i know it'll rain, ill put it up. but ill lock my doors. manual top ftw.

It would be so easy for someone to break into your glove box, all they'd have to do is rip off the plastic handle then press on the hinge.

Leave it down with the doors unlocked and nothing inside (manual top). I just take out the stereo deck. I don't remember the last time I locked the doors on it
