The 6 definitely isn't going to be as fun as your thinking for autoX. That said for everything else it would be an awesome car to have, and I would love to see it in person. Now the MR2 on the other hand, that would be a lot of fun to autoX.

e24 are great highway cruisers. Not very good cars for fast cornering. They use a steering box and have very soft bushing on the steering components that are notorious for premature wear. Steering boxes seem to always have play unless recently replaced. VERY temperamental when modifying the suspension including going with larger wheels. Visit a few of the e24 forums and scroll through the suspension threads. Not a good choice to autox at all but a very nice classy car to cruise.

I know, it's crazy. Went and looked at it today, and it is very nice. Couldn't find any rust! Dealership is a nice place and the salesman seemed honest. It's getting harder to walk away from, especially with a set of Rials sitting in my basement patiently waiting to replace the TRXs.

So, who wants to buy an e36?
