I just figured out that with a variety of apps, you can turn your phone into a camera that broadcasts the live image from the camera on Wifi or Bluetooth. Some apps let you control the light, too, so you have a perfectly good inspection camera (as far as you can reach with your phone in your hand).
Then you can use an app or a web browser (depending on the app you use on the phone) to view the broadcast image on a tablet or a computer that you can see.
For example:
WiFi Camera for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wifi...374351996?mt=8 (free, no light, need to install on both broadcaster and viewer).
IP Cam for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ip-cam/id333208495?mt=8 ($2, light control, view with a browser on the same network)
This is great for those places you can't quite fit your head but you need to get a look, or where just lifting the car up isn't enough.
