    Sad, sad day...my vert got r3v'ed =(

So my 92, 133k mile, hardtop, windscreen, coilovers, 5 spd, well maintained vert got hit in a parking lot...and I was less than 30 days away from selling it. I was already sad to even consider selling it, it's been a nearly perfect car for me over these last...4? 5 years? Not sure how long I've had it, but it's been a great companion. I was looking forward to it going to a good home (hopefully to someone here), but now I don't know what to do with it.

Sell it as is? Fix it and sell it? Part it out?

Just recently, I've done tires, pads and rotors, new seat belt receptacles, new shift knob, steering rack, new pins for the hard top, new window trim seals, repainted all the bumper trim, coilovers, voltage regulator, and some other small stuff. I almost detailed it last weekend, now I'm glad I didn't. Hate looking at that picture...gah

I'm not a very ambitious mechanic compared to many on R3V, and even I would tackle that fix. Beautiful car, fix & sell or keep.

Fix it, that is not bad. Sorry to hear, I also have been smacked into while parked. Some people just do not care.

My gut reaction is to fix it and sell it in the $6,500 ballpark, but I think if I could get $4,500 for it as-is I'd just move on and call it a day.

It's my girlfriend's daily now, and I'm out of town during the week. This makes it more challenging to get it fixed. I'll probably start sourcing parts here for it this week and try to get it back together 2 weekends from now.

BTW, I've toyed with the idea of keeping it as a weekend project and dropping an LSx in it, but I can't afford a car payment for the GF to have something to drive. I found a 2003 325i alpine/black autotragic with 120k miles on it for her for $8k, that's the likely candidate if it's still around.

Sucks, was it a hit and run type of deal? Do you have full coverage? Like others said, that's a fairly easy fix, no point in parting it out if you think your car is worth 4500-6500.

I would like to see pictures of the rest of the car, including interior

Find a fender painted the same color, headlight, grille (might as well go euro), straighten out the valance, and polish/wax the marks on the bumper.

Assuming you can find a good fender with same color paint, your looking at a 200$ish fix give or take.

Sorry to see that man, but luckily that damage doesn't look bad at all.

If you're fully insured than this should be a no-brainer.

                          Also, what f34r said.

I really have to agree to this. I sure hope you plan on putting the title in your name. Too easy for her to just take it otherwise.

+1 for fix. Id guess 1.5k to get fixed and painted.
