    Another Present: $24,600

    Yeppers, 24 Grand.

Not cash tho, but a phat scholarship to Purdue. The Indiana Resident Top Scholar Award. $6000 a year covers the fees and tution. I have to keep a 3.5 GPA, so i'll be sure to study.

This goes on top of another $7k merit scholarship I have already from Purdue, and will probably grab another $1250 from the Deans award, so Purdue will be giving me somewhere around $33,000, as long as my grades keep up. :D

This is really good news, as my parents wanted me to save during the summer for college, but now I can pretty much spend my summer earnings on my car. :P I'm looking for even more scholarships, as I want as little debt / student loans when i leave.

Total cost of Purdue is about $15 large a year, so I about cut that in half. 8)

    Nice, I'm getting $14,000 a year in scholarships to a $21,000 a year school.

    RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

I am getting jack from Purdue. Maybe because I'm an Illinois resident...

Yeah, they show the love for in-state. But hey, two of my cousins lived in Chicago and paid out of state to go to Purdue, so it's worth it. They get you the hook up with jobs or internships after you're done.

I've got some random little scholorships to pay for some books and such. I got offered 10k a year from Iowa state and Kettering University, but Kettering is way too small and 80% guys, and Iowa State can't compare to Purdue engineering. Purdue should rock.

I hope it isn't much different. Anyway, I plan to be surrounded by nerds who will force me to study. I might take it a lil easy as I already have 21 credits from AP, and might earn 13 more.

People keep saying get into a good group of people and keep each other in line. I know several people in or going into engineering, so maybe we'll make sure we stay on task.

Ha, I'm here bitching about less than $10k a year, CANADIAN. Scholarships aren't handed out to the world like they are south of the border though.

                  Congrats!

I pay $2,500 for a semester for a $37,000 private school that, last year (2002-2003) was an all girl school. Thus, my girl/guy ratio is 20-1.

I got this money beause they needed guys. Thank you.

wow... our stories sound frightening alike.... oh wait, no they don't, my story sounds like the OPPOSITE... i got 3 grand in financial aid and I (well, my family & I ) payed almost another 37 grand a year. oh and i went to a school w/ a 20-1 GUY-GIRL ratio (and most of the girls were either ASS UGLY or dikes  )

you basically needed to import women. and man did it suck (till i found my current GF over a year & 1/2 ago  )

Good going. I am confident that you have what it takes to keep a 3.5. Sure it's different from high school, it's the real world. They reward studying with grades, no big deal.

It's in Frederick, MD. I'd love to have a meet here, that would be sweet. Then we could all bitch at the girl who has an E30 325ix here who hates it...haha.

And yea, most of the girls are butch, kinda ugly, but some are hot.

i start school in phoenix later this month... i'll be living with friends in tempe, where the girl/guy of the whole TOWN is like 3/1.

                              *grin*

& i'll agree that college != HS, but for me it worked a lot better- i went from 2.2gpa upon graduation to 3.85 in my first year and a half of college (before i dropped out to be a dot-commie).
