    Progress on my 5-speed swap

I would just like to let everybody know that I suck.

I was 85% complete yesterday. but I made a few mistakes.

So now I'm back to 60% complete.

I spent 14 hours today, fixing mistakes I made yesterday and earlier in the morning.

AT least you're not 59% complete... now that would suck.

Atleast you didn't put the wrong clutch kit in and didn't realize it until you had bolted everything up.

What made it even worse for me was that the pilot bearing got stuck on the end of the input shaft.. and when I say stuck I mean seized to the nose. I eventually had to cut a hole in the bellhousing of my transmission to remove the pressure plate bolts to drop the transmission. In the end I had to cut the pilot bearing off with my Dremel. Worst weekend ever!

Better than being 100% finished and then driving the car and then in the matter of an instant being 0% working. :) Keep up the good work. Its ok if you correct mistakes and catch them. I would know. :)

Damn. I converted a automatic e34 535i to 5spd with no previous experience working on these cars in 2.5days. (20hrs)

What are you getting hung up on then eh? I've converted quite a few cars, questions?

I think the worst part of the conversion is threading the clutch slave hardline onto the end of the clutch master cylinder.

On a e30 is pretty bad. A e34 makes a e30 look like a walk on the beach.
