What would really be a waste of this car would be if it were parted out and scraped for a few bucks. At least if it sits in this guys garage then it could potentially be restored one day.

You can relax a bit. The only way I would part something like this out is if the body is beyond repair. My father and his brothers are all autobody men - I can get a very fair assessment of this.
