    Charleston M42 Experience Needed

I have recently completed a resto on a 91 318is and need some M42 owner experience. I have restored 4 other E30's, but they were all M20 motors, and have no experience to compare to. I did at one time own a 1997 318i sedan with an auto, but that was long ago, but even in my clouded recollection it seemed faster. So, I am looking for any Charleston, SC E30 M42 owners to drive my car and give me their impressions as to how my car runs.

Pretty car. I was just under my 318is today hammering the guts out of the catalytic converter. Maybe check that if you think it's sluggish.

Could just be slow, but that's why I would like to have someone with E30 M42 experience to come check it out.

I was just in Charleston with my 318is. I will probably be back soon. I'll be glad to swap with you for a ride and let you see if mine feels faster and see if I feel anything weird with yours.

I'd help if I was in the area..

But, M42's aren't fast. R3vving the hell out of them is half of what makes them so seductive. Anyways, I hope it turns out something silly is maladjusted and you have more power than you thought.

Nice car. Post a video of it running, so more people can enjoy your m42.
Make the one with full acceleration with the tach and speedo too. Good quality is preferred.

Posting a video of it running does sound like a good idea.
