I need some help. My BMW soul is being racked with eternal torment right now. Here is the situation. I have a recently finished, labor of love, 1989 325iS M50 swap, chassis has around 200k+ miles. I also have a 1989 325iS with 85k miles, currently with no engine.

Question. Do I sell my project that I have poured hours and sweat into in order to dump an S52 into the white one, or do I sell the white one and boost my baby, the M50?

Nothing is wrong with it. Runs super strong. 80k miles. But it just isn't quite fast enough for me. Or maybe I just need to grow up and drive slow. Haha.

^ This. Too much cash into the M50 to recoup the investment, so enjoy it and work on the white one.

Swap stock M20 in to car with no engine and sell car.

Use profit from extra car to buy S52 and replace your M50 with said S52.
