e36 318i auto gearbox differance?

Dose anybody know what the differance is with Auto gearboxes in e36 318i. the 1991 models had gearboxes listed as A4S 310R - LE, A4S 310R - LM, A4S 310R - LS

and the 1996 models have A4S 310R - RS what is the differance between all these.

I want to put a 1996 box in a 1991 car.

Hard to say, gearboxes could physically be the same, however, the electronics could be different.

Why not just to 5spd swap?

the 96 will be obd 2, and the earlier one will not.

It will probably matter- the obd 2 e36 is quite a bit different.
