    914 mit 350 Chevy

Stubbled across this while plotting over a future project car :D

Tons of fabrication went into the car. Dual superchargers too!

IMO 914s are ugly, but I think having a 350 Chevy in a ~2000lb car would make me put up w/ the looks.

    Anyone have any experiences w/ a 914 V8 swap?

        .

My brother had one, it was awesome.

I want to do either a v8 into one, or a tri rotor turbo.

The 914 seems like the perfect platform for an engine swap. The 914s have lots of aftermarket development (since the suspension is shared with the 911), mid engine, lightweight, and old enough to bypass smog regulations. An LS1 914 would be absolutely evil, especially with a few bolt on LS1 mods.

I wonder how much tire you can fit into the rear arches of the stock body work....

I'm a 914 owner. Do some more research on V8's in 914's, I'm not a fan of them(v8's in 914's) for many reasons. I'd say the best option out right now is a WRX or STI motor in one. A company has a complete kit to drop one in and use the stock 914 tranny.

A good friend of mine who owns a Porsche/BMW repair shop has an insane 914/6 racecar.....'72 model if memory serves me correct. Don't have any pics of it at the moment, but here are some highlights....

                > steel fares and hoods replaced with fiberglass components
                > very gutted interior
                > welded 6-point cage
                > 3.4L Motec flat-6 (357bhp & 282lb/ft torque)
                > Weld racing wheels with slicks
                > weight minus driver, ~1900lbs.

Car runs low 1:50s at Thunderhill's 3.0 mile roadcourse. Sounds wicked as fuck too. If I had a 914 with a desire to mod it, I'd go 911 drivetrain :-D

My friend's uncle has one of the few 916s. I've never seen it in person, but I've seen pictures of it.
