I too let mine lapse. Vintage has taken a back seat to newer stuff and my interest is in old cars. I still attend all the CCA events and nobody seems to care.. I do sponsor events though so I assume thats why nobody ever questions my membership

It sounds like it really depends on what your region's members are like. The Oregon board has been working hard to provide fun events and wants to hear from members what they'd like to see happen with the club. They are also trying to find good ways to give the dues back to the members with bbq's and such. This weekend, for example, is the car corral on the infield of the Portland Historic Races at Portland International Raceway and I think it includes food and there's $5 charity autocross runs and such. We also seem to have members of all ages and backgrounds, and the people so far have been friendly, with love for all models and years, including the vintage special interest group.

I was thinking about signing up again I was a member back in 2004 I would like to do some HPDE & auto crossing but since they closed nearly every track around here I'm not sure if they do it anymore I don't see any events on their calendar although its the middle of summer, we are the opposite of the most of the country we hibernate in the summer and do all the events in the winter when it is nice outside

I am long time CCA member and father has been since the late 70's, I am also the Sonora Chapter President. There is a uge benifit in joining CCA and supporting the largest single mark club in the world. Most chapters are working very hard to giving back to there members where many events are free and have no charge. We are doing a night karting event this weekend, we do drives, tech sessions - we just had one with Bogi from All Girls Garage on Velocity- SO every chapters has great events. Just swing by a local event sometime and see if you enjoy it.

Helps connect u with some people. Looks like a good group for clean racing, even though I haven't yet.

I became a member because of all the enthusiastic people in the club who welcomed us to an event ,we didn't even own a BMW at the time. Now we are active members who own 5 bmw's.
Besides the membership benefits, the club can put on events that have a financial commitment and require continuity to keep going. Our Car Control Clinics and High Performance Driving Schools are a national program.
The E30 picnic has grown to become the largest gathering of E30's in the world and its staffed almost entirely by club members, like me.
