Checking out a mtech2 vert today..

Found an mtech 2 vert, apparently it needs seats/top. Trans does not have 1st or 2nd. Body is straight, although the front valance is beat up. Looks liek a late style valance not a mtech. Has mtech sideskirts and front/rear bumper.

I do not know anything about mtech and little about verts. Was wondering what the value of something like this would be, but moreso how to prove its genuine.

    Thanks

Vin number will prove its genuine.

$1k tops., sounds like it could turn into a bigger problem than it's worth.

Thats what I am thinking. I would really love to swap my build into it but it might be more effort then I would want. Unless the body is really clean and paint is great, I am probably going to pass.

Any number in the vin that dennotes its an mtech?

Someone can pull the build sheet from the vin.

Anyone else with input on this mtech? I would assume a clean roller e30 with a blow motor should be <1.5k depending on condition and rust. Not sure on an mtech

Would love to help but you didn't provide any important information like year model, color, interior color, a single picture, etc. etc. etc.

                  It's a 1992 alpine lol. Why not?

                  Runs and drives. No rust.
Needs a top, seats are beat, and says 1st and 2nd are gone.

Get it cheap...like for under $1k assuming it's the white/white appearance package. You are going to have to put a lot of time and money into it...the top, seats, trans and who knows what else might pop up. If you have the resources you could come out on top. If you don't then perhaps you should consider holding out and find one that needs close to nothing for $5-6k.

me and the owner could not agree on a price that would work for the both of us. Sucks, but guess its for the better!

770 code mtech 2 cars are worth twice what a standard cabrio is worth in comparable condition. front valances are available through the dealer again and are less than 400 bucks if you get it from the right place. i am sure it needs work but you have to pay to play. even if it needs a shitload of work i am sure it is worth a good deal more than a thousand bucks. just a complete mtech 2 kit is worth over 2k. probably 1600 to 1800 minus the front valance.

yes full mtech cars are more rare and valuable but mtech appearance cars have good value too. especially if they came from the factory with a manual trans. the first thing i would do is change out the lotus seats and door panels for black or change the entire interior for red.

you didn't show pics and i am too lazy to search craigslist in your area, but if you can make a deal for the car for around 2k or so, you would probably do fine.

1k would be a ludicrously offensive offer for someone who knows what an mtech car is. even if it is in bad shape.
