Mine is a ZHP knob, but because I don't have an M car, I popped off the shift pattern and put an M-Technic one on instead:


It goes very well with an M-Tech 1 steering wheel that is rewrapped and has a new color badge on it.

Shit - I'm doing the same thing. Just waiting for my new emblem to show up. I also blacked out the silver ring with SEM Trim Black, though. Where'd you get the emblem? This my second attempt at ordering one. First ebay seller flaked on me. Hopefully, thebmwpartsstore won't let me down.

I personally don't really like the ZHP knob, as it's more catered to people who pistol grip the shifters. I guess I'm one of the rare few that holds the shift knob from the top?

I've shifted with one of these before on a friend's car, its pretty much the greatest thing ever. Mostly in regards to ergonomics. For those strange people who put their hand on top of the shifter, I find it makes 2-3 and 4-5 shifts much more comfortable



Sadly, I've got my PO's walmart shift knob. The budget is real tight right now and the aformentioned knob is $75 new
I do have a oem leather style headed my way from a forum member, got a good deal on it so I couldn't pass up. The kind that *looks* like a ZHP

I didn't know that knob was so expensive now. I have one of these in the vert that I bought not too long ago and I've grown to like it quite a bit. I hold the top of the shifter like you mentioned so that might be why.

ZHP knob. its allright. I guess i may need more shifter bushing work before ill ever be 100% satisfied with it. Bought it wen it was on sale somewhere for like $50 shipped. Paired with Delrin bushings and the Z3.19 shifter. Not a big fan of the ///M in the middle. Didnt know you can pop that out and replace it.

Dealership. We had someone return it for their 318iS since the new knob came with an emblem, so I scooped it up.
