We need more info on the 924S your considering. These cars have a 5 digit speedo so do not believe the numbers, look for records of maintenance and ownership history. Timing Belts/Water Pump needs to be done 35K miles or kaboom, like a 325i. Clutch could be an issue, not as cheap as a 325i. My first P-car was a 924S, wonderful simple car - same engine as 944 but slightly lighter body - great DE car...drive a slow car fast. DO NOT buy an automatic. The 924S was brought back in 1987/1988 because of the rising exchange rates and prices for 944 cars - the ones with the more shapely fenders and quarter panels. Porsche improved the interior dash of the 944 cars in 1986 but kept the older dash in the 924S to save costs. The 1987 924S/944 cars share suspension and offsets and offer a better variety of wheels and suspension upgrades compared to the pre-1986 944 cars. PM me if you have any more questions...been there and done that.

I see some antiquated semi trailing arms with torsion bars.

The e30 is a much better car and cheaper to run the only Porsche I would trade for other than a 993 would be a 944 turbo

924's are probably the worst Porsche's ever I dont care for 914's either

Like everyone else said, 924's are kinda of a waste. Go with a 944, and if you have any extension on playing with the car don't waste your time and buy a 951 (944 turbo)
