    M50 injectors w/an M42

My friend is considering installing a set of rebuilt M50 injectors in his '91 318is, along with a chip to accomodate the increased flow. Has anyone performed this swap, and what were details, technical snags, performance gains, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Also, what are some other mods that can be done for ~$300 that will provide better than marginal performance gains? Again, TIA.

I don't see the M42 gaining much with a swap like that. The stock fuel system is probably way overkill for the engine already. Make sure the injectors are electrically compatible between the motors before trying it out!

Yes, they are compatible. M42's have very low-flow, single-pintal injectors stock. They suck. M50, 17# 4-pintal injectors would do wonders for the 16er's burn, especially if accompanied by a custom chip (which we can provide) and an overbore on the secondary throttle butterfly.
