Where are you guys getting key blanks?

I probably wouldn't go to Home Depot but that's just me. I've had bad luck with them cutting simple keys for my house.

Go to dealer get code and go where they tell you.

My local dealer does not cut keys but will give you the code with proof of ownership; the local locksmith they work with charged about $28 and provided the blank.

Go to a locksmith. I did when I needed my keys cut. It was like $5 to cut it

I paid $4 or $7 (dont remember exactly) at the local locksmith. Got generic blank and works just fine. Perfect for a spare key

If my key ever breaks im going to pull all of the sliders out of the locks and just use a blank key. No thief is going to know, plus hes not going to steal a 30 year old car anyway.

The problem I find with those cheapie keys from Ilco, is that they bend really easily.

I got an OEM blank from the PO and once it was cut, is the best damn key I've ever had from the plethora of crappy ones since I got this car
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I paid $32 shipped for Lola's VIN-matched cut steel key. Klaus' was more expensive since I bought the lighted version for his.
