Any home improvement store should be able to do it. Some Walmarts can do it as well.

My local Ace Hardware completely destroyed my $30 blank key, make sure the guy knows what he's doing and that he's cut bmw keys before.

Accurate Safe and Lock, in lower Queen Anne.

They've resurrected 2 thin, bent twigs into real E30 keys now. For $3.50.

I have the luxury of being able to stay away from MalWarts.

Go to BMW with your vin, get the key code and have a key cut off that. it's the most accurate way to get a new key cut. ACE hardware can cut keys sometimes. but any good locksmith shop will be able to do a good job.

Cheap keys...go to ACE or similar hardware store with key cutter.
                    Expensive keys...go to local locksmith.

My locksmith didn't even charge me for cutting mine since I brought him the key. Took him less than 5 minutes to do it too.

Taking that a step further, you can just order a VIN cut key from the dealer but I think they are about $80.

I'm also wondering if the pin numbers from when I rebuilt my door lock can be used to "code cut" a new key ?

I'm pretty sure I only paid around $40 for Klaus' VIN-cut steel key. I'm planning to order one for Lola next week, so I can confirm once I do.
