actually after its 25 years old they dont check shit.
i imported one of my G-wagon form Germany, its a 1987 LWB 2 door and once it was in the us all i did was get it registered with the importers and previous owners paperwork then got a VISUAL inspection ONLY and thats it.

my G WAGON? hell yea its super rare only a hand full in the world and the only one on the continental US or Canada.
also as far as shipping and other fees your really looking at 2500.00 realistically and im im not sure you can sell it for 10,000.00 + i dont think ive ever seen one sell for more than 7-8 but ive been away from the E30 world for about a year so i could be wrong.

wait actually i did but it had a Euro s50 in it and was all done up, it went for 8-10,000.00 if i remember correctly.
it was actually purchased by VLAD of all people...

do it man. as for the RHD in LHD countries, no problem at all. I used to DD one it was easy peasie. especially with e30 windows which you see extremely good out of.

Remember the 25 year rule follows the BUILD Month/Year and not the model year.

Also note that German cars (not sure about UK) Do not have the build data anywhere on the car itself, Nor does the title / registration have it. The closest thing is a Date of first registration. You will need to get a printout from BMW EU with a ProductionDate listed.

For instance my Touring is a 02/88, however the date of first registration was 05/88. As I imported mine in 05/88 I went by the registration date, however if i wanted to bring it back earlier I would have needed proof

ugh, sorry I screwed up my back so I'm running on Vicodin at the moment.

I imported mine in 05/2013, so I went off the 05/88 registration date instead of the 02/88 build date

lol no worries. Back injuries suck, feel better man.

Oh wow, you just squeaked in. How do you like it? Does it get noticed in your area or is it just another station wagon?

I adore the car to be honest. Other than billy sports and H&R springs its completely stock, and I really forgot how nicely a near stock E30 drives.

I get quite a few comments, all e30 folks tend to stop me and ask about it, I've had regular people talk about it as well.

It is also stupid practical, I haul stuff in it quite a bit

Nice. I'd like to see one IRL one day.

I've been eyeing an E34 touring for that reason. I miss having a truck and I feel like that would be a good compromise.

I enjoy my E34 Touring quite a bit, its a fantastic roadtrip car and is amazingly comfortable and modern considering how old it is. The Dual sunroof (while a PITA if it breaks) is awesome
