318is or 325is? which is better?
Hi im interested in e30s But im not sure which is better for reliablity, toughness, and drivability. Please help

both but id get the 325is.its faster then a 4 cylinder. -
It's all preference. M42 for gas mileage with a little pep. M20 for a less annoying engine. LOLComment

Meh except for a vert or an m3 a 325is is pretty much the best factory e30, it's really up to opinion though, some people like the really revy m42 others like the resonable smooth m2088 325is Five SpeedLachssilberComment

M20 is the better engine, the M42 is shit. But 318 shells are the best.

325is for ease of ownership, and enough power to get you around. 318is m42 can be a real pain in the ass, and also slower than 325is, but not by much.IG: @Baye30

I went with a 318is and I love it. It's light and nimble and a blast to drive. High revving engine and great fuel economy. It's not quite as powerful as the 325is, but like others have said not by much.Comment

I've had both vehicles before, idk if it's just me but there's is a noticeabale difference on gas mileage. But as well as the power. One of the main reasons i got my current 318iS was because it was a slick top :)
