Can I fit an m20 in the back of my e30?

Just bought an m20 :). Does not come with a head. Think it will fit in the trunk? Would it be safe for a 60 mile drive?

Edit: maybe not the right place for this. Move if you feel it necessary.

I don't know from experience, but I saw a picture on here at some point of an m50 in a trunk, so I'm guessing it would fit

Alright, forgot to say it came with steering rack oil pan front diff (ix m20) all the pulleys. Everything is still together now. Will probably have to do some disassembly.

        ha yeah take it apart!

I have fit my block in no worries but with arm mounts and accessories you may have difficulty

It will fit, but the best way to fit it is to take the motor mounts off and loosen the dip stick so that you can move it around without hitting the trunk lid. I did it while the oil pan was on and no head. 60 miles is easy and it's a small load for an e30.

Here is a crappy pic of it. Any special tools I should bring along it tear it down? Will my 154pic craftsman socket set do the job?

lol yeah I plan on bringing a tarp and lots of garbage bags for the parts.

This is going to be funny, I'll be showing up to Vintagefest in Chicago with an m20 in the trunk

the ix m20 might not fit depending if you have the front diff and motor mounts bolted up. I guess you could take out the passenger seat and put down some tarps/ mats and put it in the passenger seat spot

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

just be careful with turns dips and bumps. sometimes you'll feel the car moving to one side depending on the turns and on dips or bumps it'll go down bad.

Were people able to get the trunk closed with it in there? Have it laid down on its side? Went out and did some looking at my trunk and engine, the front diff comes down about level with the oil pan. If I take off the motor mounts and other accessories then stuff it in head first I think I should be good to go.
