My brother is unloading his 2004 Chevy Aveo sedan 5MT with 95k miles. He has no use for it anymore. He bought it new in 2004. No accidents, but a decent amount of rust.
-It needs a fair amount of brake work. He took it to a shop in Chapel Hill, NC and they told him at a minimum it needs two front calipers (they are frozen), two rotors, two wheel cylinders (rear drums), and lines. I partially think its just a southern shop that's freaking out over northern rust.
-I would need to get the car from Chapel Hill to Savannah. Since the car is not driveable, I was looking at the cheapest way possible. I can probably rent a car dolly for $50-$60. 700 miles of fuel costs at a conservative 12mpg I would budget $220.
-Once in Savannah I can do the work myself. I can slowly source parts from online or junkyards.
I certainly don't NEED this car. this would be my drive to work/spare/no fcuks given car. Worst comes to worse I could sell for $1400 and recoup costs.
What say you R3V? nice price or crack pipe?
