So here is the skinny.

A week agoI went and saw an 85 318i 4 speed that a kid picked up that he just finished up some body work (well, almost completely) and the interior is decent on. Needs headliner, new seat covers and a deep cleaning. Missing a few small interior pieces. But it drives, somehow. He was asking $1,000 for it and it needs tags for $265. Here are the pics.








Two days ago I picked up a 90 e32 with the m30b35 with 177K that pulls strong, bad transmission (no reverse), needs radiator (don't care) and is smashed in the rear for a whopping $200 bucks. So, other than a 260, I have all I need for an M30 swap.





The original plan was to just deal with the e32, pull the motor and all the stuff I need for a future swap.

Now, the guy selling the e30 has hit me up and checked in with me since I think I was the only person showing interest. He lowered his price to $600. After which I said the only way I could afford it is to figuratively steal it from him. To which he said he is even more flexible on the car since he wants to get rid of it.

the first thing you do is crawl under the e32 and check out the rear diff. If its anything 3.23 LSD or taller gear ratio PM buttchug asap and sell to me.

For $600 I would do it and do the m30 swap. The outside looks decent, just needs some paint. I would just check and see if there's any rust and do a thorough check all around.

Well its a 2.09 according to Wikipedia. When I get it on stands, I will take a look for the "s".

if its a 90 735i its most likely a 3.91

Got the car and I am stoked. Yeah, its ugly. But its mine and will be glorious.

It has a Getrag 240 though and that makes the m30 swap WAY easier for me. Hells, yeahs.
