People are always under the gun with paypal, so if they have been burned by someone before bc they gave them the benefit of the doubt, then I can absolutely understand why they would file a claim with paypal right away.

    Nothing wrong with that, either.

Sorry I'm a little tipsy here ...I didn't question his complaint at all , I responded to his PM 5 minutes after he sent it ..no answer .. Was trying to be helpful in my response , his response was to file a pp claim without contacting me at all the next day ..I know that the injectors were good before I sent them to be rebuilt , and I'm assuming that I won't be getting those exact injectors back ...Whatever , I would have been happy to refund the money given the chance . I'm not out to screw anyone over , and I would expect to be treated the same way . But obviously I found the wrong buyer , it's only $55 , I will let you guys know the outcome if/when I receive the injectors .

I'll play devil's advocate on this.

Had a customer a few months ago from over seas claim to have received an incorrect camshaft and demanded to have a correct cam sent out post-haste. I politely asked that he send a couple snapshots over with some specs. The cam was not the one I sent and in the background of one of the images you could see the cam I sent clearly split in two. After questioning it, he came forward saying he dropped it onto the floor, breaking it.

I could go on and on. But for the most part, just don't let a few rotten apples leave you with a bad taste.

I had a guy order a shift boot from me and send his address via PayPal, then he typed a different address in the message. PP shipping grabbed his old address so the boot went there. Obviously my mistake, but common sense says if you moved years ago you should remove that address from your PP. We worked it out over the phone but before I could make and ship another he went to his old house and talked to the new owners, and was able to get the boot from them. Because I was understanding and willing to deal with it like an adult, he's since purchased other items from me and has told others I'm a standup guy. If I'd have been a douche I'm sure I'd have lost his as well as the business of others. Negative reviews spread like wildfire and positive ones spread slowly.

His mistake. Not yours. PayPal policy is VERY clear that you ONLY ship to verified addresses. Now, that doesn't meant that I would not work with the guy - it's an honest mistake. Shit happens, and it's always best to try to help out within reason.

If a guy goes straight do a claim without talking, then stand on the seller protection policy. If you did it correctly (shipped to a verified address and have proof of shipping via a trackable method), then you actually do enjoy some protection. Take advantage of that. Fuck that guy. If he can't even give you a chance to work it out, he doesn't deserve your cooperation.

I'm with you on the whole seller protection thing. I just didn't notice they were different addresses. If I'd have noticed I'd have called and asked for clarification. So my mistake. I guess it's all semantics in the end. It was nice that he called me though, he made it very easy to compensate, especially when he went and grabbed it from his old residence.

I guess my post was more about not being a douche

At this point the ball is in his court. As long as you sent to verified address, and you can prove that you shipped, he is going to need to prove that you promised working parts and that they are not working as described. Then he will need to return them with proof of delivery before paypal with refund him. Will put the money on hold until the whole ordeal is sorted, but it leaves it completely impartial. Honestly, he may have shot himself in the foot by not dealing directly with you first. I'm not saying you have to go this route, that's completely up to you.
