R3v rocks: uber feedback thread for all the help I've gotten

This is kind of an all in one feedback thread to celebrate how R3Vlimited made it possible for me to be driving my dream car and still have enough money left over to remain married. The people on here are not only into their cars, but are generous with their time and knowledge so that we can all enjoy our addiction to great cars. I used to be into older Porsche 911s when I had disposable income (i.e. pre kids). There’s also a great community there but prices have gotten way out of hand. A typical ‘78SC that needs paint and a top-end costs $15k! Anyways, I started lurking on R3vlimited about a year and a half ago, and was on the hunt for a clean E30. It had to be a coupe and had to be faster than my wife’s 2.0L 16V swap ‘84 Mk1 Rabbit.

So my car was also going to have to be a swap car, and total budget had to be right around that tired 911SC. I narrowed it down to two S5x cars and ended up getting to know Mossman pretty well as I asked him a ridiculous amount of questions about the white 91 318is S52 swap coupe he had for sale. A sweet car; it had been off the road ~10 yrs, Sam got it, very cleanly swapped in an S52 (he had done the same on a vert) but then decided having two S52 swapped cars was just too greedy. I bought it from him in August 2012 and the stars finally aligned in late October for it to be shipped from Boston to the Pacific Northwest. For anyone who immediately rules out buying a car if it has to be shipped, I had the car shipped from Boston all the way to Portland OR for $1250.
The car still had the original 4.10 LSD so the first thing to do was find a 3.25 LSD. I located one in Portland and contacted LuckyHenrickson to do the install along with an adjustable subframe. I live in Seattle so I took the train down to Portland and Steven picked me up (try and find another shop that would do that!). When I first saw my new car I was blown away by how original it looks, and it was obvious Sam (Mossman) had done an excellent job on the S52 install.
I drove home to Seattle and have been driving and tinkering with it ever since. Everyone I’ve dealt with via R3V has gone out of their way to make transactions great (beyond just great prices) and been VERY patient with all of my questions as I get up to speed on E30s. So THANKS, and thanks in advance to the next people who help me, either directly like the ones below, or indirectly by posting how you did a project on your car.
    In order of appearance:
Amazing S52 swapped 318is: Mossman. Awesome guy. Patiently answered (and continues to answer) all of my questions with encyclopedic E30 knowledge.
3.25LSD: Austin! I bought LSD remotely and Austin brought it over to the shop (across town!) so it could be installed
Adjustable subframe: MarshallM. Marshall delivered the subframe to the shop and didn’t charge me shipping
Floor mats: redsubdivisions. OEM, shipped for $120??? Amazing
Skidplate: ejnight (Forum Sponsor Race Skids) Peace of mind, clearly built with care. Great product
Lights: Hella smileys (along with Euro grills) from mkcman17. Great transaction & even offered to help with install.
    Antenna: 5ickride
Interior Light Delay: George Graves. Literally got the parts the next day after ordering at noon
Steering wheel: Momo Prototipo from That_E30. Brought it to my office!
    Hub: endoforce5
Euro plate filler, tail light gaskets and hood pad: ZM Blue Devil (Forum Sponsor Guten Parts)
    E36 M3 steering rack: TwoJ’s
Euroweaves w/Falkens & Euro trim: blunttech (Forum Sponsor Blunt Tech)
RX7 BBK setup (including struts!): MR 325 (great price, arrived VERY well packaged in 2 days!)
    Euroweave caps: golde30
Stereo stuff isn’t installed, I haven’t decided whether I want to add all the extra weight. But these guys were great to deal with:
Sub box (10” Lukebox): StereoInstaller1 (this box is a work of art, almost a shame it gets hidden away in a trunk! Forum Sponsor German Audio Specialties)
JLAudio amp and 10” sub: BMW Fanaddict
I’m right at (well OK, 10% over) my original budget, and I get a car that is ridiculously fun to drive but still can carry my whole family to Pike Place Market (me, my wife and 3 boys), with space in the trunk to bring home the groceries.

With the help of R3vlimited, a person can build a dream car made to order, for considerably less than the cost of a new Civic. Nice.
    Thanks R3V!

Thanks! After writing that post I checked what a Civic actually costs and was shocked. I've always used them as a metric to represent what a "sensible" car costs. This makes justifying my car addiction much easier. I figured they were around $15k but I was wayyyy off. So if I use that as my benchmark I am still under budget......and as a result am finding myself thinking about a turbo. Must. Resist.

Really enjoyed the write up and shout outs. R3vlimited is the best forum out there :) I know I am not alone in mentioning this place has taught us remotely most of our e30 based knowledge.

Wheel fitment I owe to Wheel Whores.

What a great bunch of cars in the household. So those are brand new euroweaves, huh? I may have to do the same, rather than buying used and refinishing. Love the 332is emblem, too - must throw people for a loop.

I bought the Euroweaves used from Steve at BluntTech. He blasted/painted/cleared them and mounted the Falkens but the setup wasn't able to put down the power his turbo car makes. So I bought them. They have trouble with the S52 as well but I prefer wheelspin rather than devouring trans/driveshafts/axles....and against my better judgement here's another pic of the wife ;D
