I wonder how bad the "rot" is, either way this is a no brainer. Someone is getting a good deal on a perfect project.

This has been kicking around the NE30 group on facebook for over a month. Pretty sure it sold a while ago, the posted date of the CL ad is sept. 17. Everyone said the drivers floor and firewall are rotted horribly

If that was within anywhere near me it would have been mine. I flew to new mexico from ca for my m3. $3500 it should have been sold in hours.

Dougie wtf you know this by now, jose picked that up. good luck too him...

The whole firewall/strut tower is GONE. nothing left of it. The owner of The garage said he was lucky "the car didnt fold in half on the lift"

i know a guy who went to go look at it. Car was owned by a Boston university professor, who just parked the car under a tree for 15 years for no apparent reason, thats why it rotted to death.

I noticed in Europe, the rust has to be pretty cancerous throughout the body in order for them to give up and part the car. In the US, rust is almost like a death sentence. Few people want to deal with it. An E30 M3 though is worth saving and even if one can't do it themselves there are shops that deal with rust restorations that can take care of things like this. I think people are just scared to overpay and just rather find a clean shell.

^ I can't fully agree on that. Looking around the Tri-5 Chevy forums, it is crazy what some of them old guys are bringing back to life over there in the U.S.

Yes, the amount of welding I did on my daughters e21 was WAY over the worth of the car, but I just think of it as another car saved. But if you have a bit of time and a welder, its not expensive if your going to keep the car for yourself.

My father always preached to me when we restored cars together that what you save in the beginning of a build on money, you WILL spend 3 fold in the end.
