so the 325i prices are going skyrocket, E36 prices dropping and i was not aware

heres the description of the 325is i was talking about, he wants 4500$ for it. only foul thing is the speedometer doesnt work like once a week, i can fix that, not a big deal.

240k miles, manual transmission, Recaro sport seats (dove gray).

get it or no keep looking ? owner is a E30 fan himself, he drove to arizona to buy the car and get it to alabama.

      yay or nay

seems about right Miles don't matter on a 20+ year old car

            Looks decent to me.

Oh, and the seats aren't Recaros, they are stock BMW sport seats. Recaro did not make them.

Everyone with sport seats can confirm this. They are similar to VW seats which are made by recaro, which may lead to the popular confusion.

I can't beleive e30 prices have increased like this. My guess is that with cult status and low milage of 160k, Mine should be at about six kay

I'm not going to give you any advice on what 3-series to pick because I'm completely bias in my opinion.

I mean why would I want to own any other 3 series when the E30 is a work of motoring art inside and outside? Have you sat inside of one? I love the design, it speaks to me. I love the proportions. I love how the car truly reflects the BMW motto of "The Ultimate Driving Experience".

That said what I really wanted to point out is:

Good E30's can still be had for a reasonable price, around 2k. You need to stalk your prey in their natural habit... Craigslist, Ebay, etc. I wouldn't suggest forums because it will be for about 4k on the forum.

I had a few choices when I was shopping for mine, 10 at 2k, but only 2 of which I actually wanted to buy.

One was an immaculate 325is in dark blue, black interior, lowered (tastefully) and at 300k. It was $2200.

The other (which I bought) was an immaculate 325es that I bought on....... wait for it.......EBAY.. for $1650. The interior was great, the owner actually took care of the car (maintenance, etc.) which was rare considering Americans generally take shitty care of their cars. Racing dynamic swaybars, struct tower, alloy rims, Magnaflow exhaust.

Long post short, just buy whatever you want man. If you want an e30, YES YOU WANT AN E30, for a lower price put in more effort and wait to find one. That's the general law of life. Pay less=Do More, Pay more=Do less.

I love my e46 as a daily driver. Plenty of power for everyday use, comfortable, still relatively easy to work on, and looks a million times better than the e36 chassis IMO.

I love my e30 for totally different reasons - chief amongst them, nostalgia and the driving experience. Definitely gives me more headaches though.

That said, if price is a big concern, the best bang for your buck will definitely be an e36.

Mine has almost 200k but it has all new suspension controll arms & bushings so what worth more a car with 150K and 25 year old suspension or a higher mile car thats had everything replaced.

You cant really trust the mileage anyways since the odo gears are always broken

As far the motor goes you can get another M20 for practically nothing or a M50 for not much more

Yep, common misconception that they're made by Recaro. They were not.

I don't understand why everyone is saying e36. 6k is way more than enough to get an e30 with everything you want from it.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I know a BMW Tech from way back in the day when these cars came out that says their made by Recaro. He's also crazy and has a warehouse full of them.

you can buy like 8 Mint condition E36's for 6k. But whats the use, their only good for....
