I had a tranny crossmember that got a little bent, so it was allowing the driveshaft and transmission to shift under load. Bent it back into place in the parking lot next to Steve's trailer. It's not Vintage if no one is doing a parking lot fix!
Yes it is possible to pull an engine from the side, alone, in a two car garage.

Can't remember whether it was a tranny mount, ds, or exhaust, but I do know you guys buttoned it up super quick!1. i did the same and it makes oil change real easy but I'm thinking of putting a oil cooler on.Complimentary pictorial:

New pilot bearing because auto>manual

So easy when using a clutch alignment tool. Blue Loctite everything, used a torque wrench and held the crank from turning with one hand and the torque wrench in the other.

New head on (I changed the oil filter setup from filter-to-block to what was on my original block that uses an external OEM oil cooler post picture):

Garage is detached and located in an alleyway with no driveway space. Pulling the car out any distance would put it in the alleyway.
That and the garage isn't in the best of area's, so I don't desire flaunting whats in the garage by having it open all day. I dont live in the same area, I just rent a garage there, I used to live in the same area though so I am aware of the surroundings.Leave a comment:

Doing it from the side is a pain, I pulled and put in a new motor on a dirt surface. What a pain in the ass without a load leveled as well. It also sucked when the hoist would sink into the dirt.Leave a comment:

It can be done with the AT, and the m30 went back in the same way with the AT. from the side is the only way.

I would have gotten one of those HF piano dollies and dropped the whole thing out the bottom, then lifted up the front of the car with your hoist and rolled the engine out of the way.

I just pulled the engine out of a donor car. Since the frame was being scrapped I just cut the entire front end off with a recip saw.
Its nice having the motor and trans out though. I have a $700 order ready to place from pelican to replace anything and everything it needs. Its going to be nice to have no leaks.Leave a comment:
