Go V6 swap in the MR2! I had a fully built '87. ST springs and sways, quick-ratio steering rack, poly bushings, Konis, 15x8 949's with azenis, and a 5SFE swap that almost got a turbo, but I was t-boned before that happened :(

That car was quicker on the back roads than my m50 318is that followed. Tons of fun, but it was never gonna be a looker haha
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

I would LOVE to go with a V6, like a newer lexus V6 but just spend a ton on my 4age, would hate to put all that to waste!

As awesome as a 1MZFE would be in an AW11, I'd hate to have to work on it. It's already pretty tight with a 4AGE.

Rather the quality of the car.... 5k should get you a decent car to start with.... You are in the e30 capital also
There is ONE late model e30 in my area... and lucky enough its a built car...
It used to be listed for $9500 FIRM now he changed it to $8000 FIRM.
is he on the forums? however i can NOT see myself paying 8 grand for it.
what was the comment about being in the e30 capitol? are you referring to spokane wa or R3Vlimited?

You can always go the Paul Woods rout and go with a 2GR-FE with the lotus evora supercharger, 345 hp baby. (not to mention his old ride, the audi V8 AW11)

Buy an 88 e30 "Super Eta" turbo it, run 10-20psi all day long on stock block/internals.

I have a '87 325is which I absolutely love and have had no wiring harness issues. Only big problem was the blown rear main seal which wan't terribly hard to fix. There are a few other problems like power steering leaks and such but they really aren't that hard to fix. Watch out for rust but you'll find a few with little to no rust. Just letting you know my E30 has the same original engine (M20) and it has 247,630 miles. Still running strong...
                      Good luck, hope this helps!

Wow, that is a really good deal. Easily worth $8k. S50B30, E30 M3 5 lug, E30 M3 front and rear seats. These are money. As long as everything was done right, you are going to have a hard time finding a better deal. Good luck in your decision.

Well either I would buy a nice original car, and the project would be to mod it, or buy a modded car and enhance the mods. I'm not too interested In buying a thrashed car and restoring it.
