    Drove my first E30 today!

I'm searching for my first E30 and drove one today. Some specs on it- bone stock 87 325, 5 speed coupe, super clean interior and exterior.

I do have one question. Is it normal for the M20 to idle rough? It drove really smooth when cruising but sitting at a stop light it reminded me of a diesel motor because of all the little knocks, ticks and vibrations coming from it. I assumed it would need a valve adjustment but I guess thats not always the case. I told the guy I'd buy it if it passed smog

Maybe the car has few vacuum leaks.

I love these threads. I recall the first time driving a bone stock e30. I will never forget rowing through the gears. Checking the revs, feeling the suspension, hearing the engine noise and last but not least the vivid 'e30' scent that it had.

Yeah it was cool! Shifter is sloppy but probably just needs some bushings replaced. Very clean car though, I hope it passes smog and I can fix all the little issues with the car (broken odo, driver window needs a deeper look, couple dash panels missing, reverse lights may be burned out, AC recharged). The brakes seemed to be sub-par, definitely doesn't stop as quickly as my Honda but that's easily fixed with some upgraded pads. Guy also plasti-dipped everything so I'll need to change that.

The stock brakes are actually quite good, it should out brake your Honda easily. I'd check to see how the pads and rotors are doing, but it probably just needs some new brake fluid and a bleed.

Yea post up some pics of your e30. I should have never sold my first e30 it was so nice I didn't know what I had yet but driving it was a dream compare to almost any car I've ever been in. Just take good care of it and maintain it well and it will give you smiles for years to come.
