I thought $40k-ish was the cost for an Elise? My brother-in-law said that the markup was into the 50/60/90s after he got his when he got back from Iraq for the first time.

ALMS is lurking as well as LeMans.

Wouldn't hold my breath. BMW and the FIA/ACO do not get along at all. This car they unveiled today is a customer program they're starting up for the German endurance series & the Nurburgring 24 hours. The PTG effort this year in the ALMS isn't a factory effort, it's more along the lines of an exhibition class created so PTG can run the old 2001 E46 chassis.
