I mean, isn't that perfect for the enthusiast? In 10 years I'd love to purchase a 228i and boost the hell out of it. Or a E90 and swap some kinda monster V8 in it. Who ever said value holding was the gold standard of worthiness?
BTW, no one gave a rats ass about E30s 15 years ago. They werent considered historic or classics either. They were old yuppie mobiles. I personally look forward to the future. Look at what M-Tech is for e28s and e30s. Now look at M Performance http://www.bmwMperformance.com. There will be great availability to make a really base 328i into something much nicer.
