    Fred,

How about a wider-view of, say, half of the engine bay?

Those pictures seem kinda out of context. I want to see how the "whole picture" looks with those headers.

How good could've you hoped for? I think they look amazing!! I'm really curious to see what the dyno says (butt or otherwise) because my Stahl header gained me bottom end, but I lost a little up top. May have to look into this.... (that is if they are readily available)

      The muffler looks great :D

You NEED to open up your intake!!!
That is true, however, if you knew Jerry Stahl, you'd know that he is a drag racer from the late 60's, and held a quarter mile record for 11 years, in a Chevelle. My point? His headers are for torque, midrange. They arn't designed to pull at 6000+.

        re:

Headers look awesome! great job! Hopefully you can get it on the dyno and see how much you got out of them.

          I think they look sweet.
Mine were specially built and give excellent power gains:

I think they came out pretty well ;). But they do look better without that damn expansion tank in the way.

It sounds deeper and "gutsy", almost like there's an exhaust in the front of the car but not quite. But I actually went to a quieter muffler so the whole thing isn't very loud, which is kinda what I was hoping for since I do a lot of highway driving and I can't stand exhaust drone.

also how did you get your exhaust manifold gaskets/shields black?
Yeah, I need to upload the write-up online one of these days. The manfiold gaskets actually came that way; I think all of them come black with aluminum lining these days.

The butt dyno says that there is a little gain off the line but a lot at the top end. That was one of my biggest problems since at about 6500 RPM my car would just run out of steam, like the power curve suddenly dropped off to zero. Now it happily revs all the way up, but I'm very interested to see what numbers it's putting out now as well. I'm still kinda puzzled how your Stahl headers contributed to the power loss, unless maybe the piping is too large. Hmmm...

It looks awsome. This mod game is too addicting I need to stop coming to this site.

Yeah, that mod bug is very addicting! I have a lot of other projects lined up now and I really don't know where to start (then again, I'll have to put a lot of stuff aside for now and pay off the bill first ;) ).

Thanks Chris! Couldn't find the RD muffler, so I just settled with the tips. I'm actually running a (gasp!) E36 M3 muffler.

Technically I'm not. But the tailpipe readings are clean, so I may just have my friend do it and overlook all the not-so-CARB-legal stuff. Otherwise, I'll just register it in Nevda :).

You're right, it's dark now (again), but I'll snap some first thing tomorrow morning with the expansion tank out of the way.

Thanks again to everyone for the compliments! I really want to get this thing to the dyno soon before it blows up again . I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks for the info Fred, that's the kind of power that I'm looking for. Maybe when I have a bit more disposable income I'll do a back to back (AND after I get my intake sorted)
