Feedback is very similar to iRacing IMO. Easier to toss and catch the car in Assetto, and generally more lifelike in the more subtle, on the edge situations. In iRacing, the transition from useable slip angles to completely loosing it are too narrow. I am using a Fanatec CSR wheel.

Engine sounds sound just like Forza 4. It reminds me a lot of Forza 4 oddly in terms of detail. The interior view is off though with shifting and hand movements lol

I hope they give us the option to turn off hands and wheel, like most other sims.

Neat I was just telling my friend I miss forza and can't quantify buying a Xbox One just for that game. Score one for the master race!

Unless you already have a fast, modern PC, by the time you build or buy one capable of running a modern racing sim and the ancillary hardware to properly support it, a console is in fact much cheaper.

Absolutely, but that's the price you pay to run a "simulation" vs. a "game". ;D

there's no comparison in sim factor when comparing pc to console, I still play GTR evo from like 2008 and it feels better than forza 4 or GT5. Ripping the ring in the old BMW v8 GT car is too much fun.

They have added or are adding that feature thankfully for you wheel guys. What wheel are you running? I can pick up a G27 for like 120-180$ on craigslist.

And Ill explain the console vs PC argument again. A console cant do your taxes, it cant write your papers, its only for gaming, a PC can do both, so effectively its your console and your work station in one. Would you rather pay $560+$450(basic laptop) or $800 on a beast ass PC you can hook to your TV and go?

Plus the only racing wheel that works for the xbox is the CSR wheel, which is like $600.

Technically a PC can't do your taxes or write your papers either. It does offer a platform on which one can install software to assist them accomplish those things. Yes that's pedantic and I understand what you're trying to say.

It's not the platforms' capabilities other than how we use them to simulate driving/racing games/sims that we're talking about here though. The differences are in the physics models and the vehicle dynamics of the games/sims and in their target audiences.

Just so no one gets their hopes up..

Even though you can get a decent gaming PC for $800, it's far from being a "Beast".

As a side note, I am really disappointed with the choices we are offered today for Wheel/Pedal setups. The G25 was the last great unit. The G27 is a hunk of junk. I am hearing great things from the new Driving Force GT though. Please note, I am only referring to middle range units. Thrustmaster is currently the only high end unit I would consider up-scaling to.

The Driving Force is fairly decent, had one for years. Its not a smooth as the G25/27 but with force going, you never notice. I now have the Fanatec wheel/pedal. Its a $249 bundle at their website. I picked up my Dell XPS 8700 for $650, added a GeForce GTX 660 for $150. Not a beast, but it gets the job done nicely.

Gary I'm interested to hear your take on how the CSR wheel compares to the G25.
